I am currently writing a fantasy saga, and I have a character in it who thinks akin to yourself. He’s conclusion on this topic is that God made each animal with a distinct message for mankind. The cynical, and those that believe Man is so above the rest in the animal kingdom – as seen in some of the comments above – will not see the messages, but the positive, and the ones who truely belive we can learn from animals will benefit from them.
Being the creator of this charactor, I share your opininions as well. And for the person who wrote the first comment: maybe the message with the Bowerbird deals with effort rather than possession. “How much effort a man is willing to put in appearance to impress a woman is a good indicator of how much he values their date” so to speak. Think about all the women who show up on a date looking stunning, wanting to look as perfect as they can be. Then think about how the average man would strut in that restuarant looking a mess/not the slightest bit presentable…? a lesson from animals can change our world dramatically. PS > i am a guy.
